Novilla Mattress Review: What You Actually Pay, and What the 100 Night Trial Really Covers

By Jane Horton· Oct 29, 2026
Novilla Mattress Review

Here is a discrepancy worth opening with. Major mattress review sites list the Novilla Bliss at $500 to $950. At the time of writing, a full size Novilla Bliss 10 inch sells on Walmart for $203.98, marked down from a $239.99 list.

That is not a sale fluctuating around a real price. It is a gap of several hundred dollars between what the reviews say the bed costs and what anyone actually pays for it, and it changes the verdict entirely. A mattress with average edge support and average durability is a poor buy at $700 and a strong one at $204.

The second thing worth knowing before you order is that Novilla advertises a 100 night trial, and most people buying a Novilla are not getting one.

Verdict in one minute

  • At roughly $200 to $300 street price, Novilla is good value. Judge it there, not at the quoted list price.

  • The 100 night trial applies to novilla.net. Marketplace purchases follow the marketplace, which is commonly 30 days.

  • The 10 year warranty is limited and non transferable, and explicitly does not cover the memory foam getting softer.

  • Edge support and durability are the real weak points, rated around 6.5 out of 10 by independent testing.

  • Not the right choice for sleepers over roughly 230 lb, particularly back and stomach sleepers.

The trial that may not be yours

This is the same trap that catches Zinus buyers, and it catches Novilla buyers for the same reason: almost all the volume goes through Amazon and Walmart rather than the brand's own site.

Novilla states a 100 night trial with a full refund if you are unhappy. That is the policy for a direct purchase from novilla.net. The Walmart listing for the same mattress offers free 30 day returns, which is a different and much shorter window.

Thirty days is not nothing, but it is not enough for a foam mattress. The foam needs up to 72 hours just to finish expanding, your body needs two to three weeks to stop comparing it to your old bed, and you want time to notice whether a dip is forming. A 30 day window closes right about when you are forming a real opinion.

If the trial length matters to you, price the direct purchase against the marketplace price and work out what the extra 70 nights is worth. Often the direct price is close enough that the longer trial is free.

What the warranty does not cover

Novilla's 10 year limited warranty is non transferable, so buying second hand leaves you with nothing, and it does not cover the memory foam softening over time.

That exclusion deserves a plain explanation because it is where most foam mattress claims die, at every brand. Softening and sagging sound like the same complaint and are treated as entirely different things. Sagging is measured, usually against a depth threshold with the mattress unweighted. Softening is the mattress gradually feeling less supportive while still lying flat. The first can be claimed and the second cannot, and the second is what most people actually experience.

Practical response: on the day it arrives and finishes expanding, lay a straight edge across the mattress and photograph it with a tape measure, undated photos being worthless. Repeat annually. If a dip develops you will have a documented baseline, which is the difference between a claim and an argument.

Novilla Bliss, 10 inch and 12 inch

Around $204 for a full 10 inch at Walmart. Medium firmness, rated 5 out of 10.

The core product. A bamboo derived rayon cover over a 3 inch gel infused memory foam comfort layer and an 8 inch high density support core, CertiPUR-US certified, sold online only. Available in 6, 8, 10 and 12 inch profiles depending on the listing.

What it does well is straightforward pressure relief for side sleepers of average build at a price where the alternative is a mattress topper. Independent testing rates it medium and comfortable, with the gel infusion doing a modest amount for heat.

Where it is honestly average, with numbers from independent testing:

  • Edge support is weak. Sitting on the side of the bed to put shoes on is where you notice it, and it matters more than people expect for anyone with joint pain or limited mobility.

  • Durability rated 6.5 out of 10, with an expected life around 6 to 7 years rather than a decade.

  • Temperature control rated 6.0 out of 10. Gel infused foam is cooler than plain memory foam and warmer than a hybrid. Hot sleepers should not expect this to solve the problem.

  • Ease of movement rated 6.0 out of 10, which is the usual memory foam trade off. Combination sleepers who turn frequently will feel the resistance.

Sleepers over roughly 230 lb are the clearest mismatch. Testing found it too soft for heavier sleepers, with insufficient support for heavier back and stomach sleepers in particular.

Choose the 12 inch over the 10 inch if you are near that weight range or sleep on your front. The extra comfort layer is doing real work there. For a guest room or a child's room, the 8 inch is sufficient and cheaper.

Novilla Serenity Hybrid

The spring version, and for several buyer types the better choice from this brand rather than a more expensive one.

The reasoning is specific. Pocket springs address two of the three weaknesses above directly. Coils give the perimeter something to push back with, which improves the edge support, and air moves through a coil layer far better than through eight inches of solid foam, which improves the heat. They also typically hold up longer under heavier sleepers than an all foam core does.

If you were leaning toward the Bliss and you are a stomach sleeper, a hot sleeper, or over about 230 lb, step across to the hybrid before you step up to a more expensive brand. It is the cheaper fix.

Pillows, toppers and the rest of the range

Novilla sells gel memory foam pillows and toppers alongside the mattresses, and the topper is the useful one. It is the sensible purchase if your current mattress is sound but too firm, and it is a cheap way to try the brand's foam feel before committing to a bed.

It will not fix a mattress that has developed a dip, and no topper will. A sag is a structural problem in the core, and adding foam on top simply relocates the dip two inches higher. If your mattress has a visible depression, replace it.

Before you order

1. Check the price across novilla.net, Amazon and Walmart on the same day. The spread between them is often larger than the value of anything else in this review.

2. Read the return window on the listing you are actually buying from, not the brand's trial claim.

3. Allow 72 hours for full expansion before you judge the firmness. A foam mattress on night one is not the mattress you bought.

4. Confirm your bed base. Memory foam needs continuous support or closely spaced slats. An inadequate base causes sagging and is the first thing any warranty assessment will ask about.

5. Take the straight edge photograph when it arrives. It takes two minutes and it is the only evidence that will ever matter.

Worth buying if

  • You are furnishing a guest room, a child's room, a rental or a first apartment, which is this mattress's natural home.

  • You are a side sleeper of average build who wants pressure relief at the lowest sensible price.

  • You need a mattress now and a six to seven year life is acceptable.

  • You are replacing something genuinely worn out, where almost anything is an improvement.

Skip it if

  • You weigh over about 230 lb, especially if you sleep on your back or front. Take the hybrid or spend more.

  • You sleep hot enough that it is the reason you are shopping.

  • You sit on the edge of the bed often, or need to, because edge support is the weakest point.

  • You want a full sleep trial and are buying from a marketplace with a 30 day window.

Final word

Novilla makes a perfectly competent budget foam mattress, and the most important thing this review can tell you is to ignore the prices quoted in most Novilla reviews. At $700 this would be an easy no. At around $204 it is a sensible purchase for a guest room or a lighter side sleeper, with honest limits on edge support, cooling and lifespan.

Buy the hybrid if you are heavier or sleep hot, check the return window on the actual listing rather than the brand's trial claim, and photograph it flat on day one so a warranty claim is possible later. At this price, those three decisions are worth more than any comfort rating.
