I’m always on the lookout for online deals, offers, and steals, without sacrificing quality. The web is full of countless bargains and outlet sites, it’s hard to know which ones are legit and which ones are simply not worth the risk.
Enter OUTNET, the designer discount site of YOOX, and NET-A-PORTER (www.theoutnet.com).
On this site, you get photos of the same high quality as those advertised on the parent company’s website. The discounted prices, however, make the merchandise more affordable, making the occasional purchase more affordable.
So did I try it? YES!!!!
When I first try an e-commerce site, I always go slowly. I don’t want to throw a lot of money away on the infamous “FINAL SALE” items only to find out that the fit or quality is lousy.
No worries with OUTNET!!! Everything I have purchased from this site has been perfect quality and arrived quickly.
So here are the two pieces I purchased from this site:
Buckle-embellished high-rise skinny jeans by Marc Jacobs
I had previously purchased an Enza Costa dress, so sizing was not an issue. I bravely ordered my usual size.
Now the Marc Jacobs jeans had me drooling! Seriously! A pair of wide leg jeans with a red tuxedo style stripe down the side, a rare denim unicorn. Only 1 pair left, and in my size. I quickly checked other sites to confirm the Marc Jacobs size as I didn’t know if the designer fit.
Within a week the package arrived. For two pieces, it looked deceptively small. The box was plain with no branding on the outside. Inside was plain fabric and the packaging was sealed with an OUTNET sticker.
First the dress. Perfect quality. The only surprise was that the fabric was thinner than I expected and more of a summery, lightweight cotton. This is the kind of dress you wear on a lazy summer day or on a beach holiday. Since I ordered it in winter, I automatically assumed it would be thicker. It can be hard to tell the thickness of the material from the picture online.
